2024 saw the demise of gaming events such as Insomnia, WASD and EGX.
This year marks the 10th anniversary of London Games Festival and they launched a new event as part of their festival called New Game Plus at the London Museum. They kindly invited me as a creator to attend.
New event and new venue.
It had a few teething problems including a lack of signage to get to the venue and floors, however despite the little issues it was a success. With support from the UK government funding the event and low costs for indie devs to showcase it was smiles all round. Sadiq Khan even popped in to say hi.
As a first event showcasing an impressive 70 indie games and a stage for panels. Sir Ian Livingstone hosted ‘A Decade of Gaming’ panel with gaming industry guru’s Gina Jackson, George Osborne, Dr Imo Kaufman, Phil Stuart, Shay Thompson & John O’Shea.
Here’s a video featuring 30 of the games I played out of the 70 and a highlights video showcasing the Ensemble cohort, panels, people, rewards and of course the photo ops 📷
Did you attend? What was your favourite indie game ? Cat-a-strophic and Spelly Cat were at the top for me.
